If the essence of Affliction is damage over time (DoT), Destruction is essentially focused on direct damage spells. As such, the aim of every destro warlock is to maximize his direct damage.  A warlock’s direct spells are not as massively damaging as those of a mage, but when combined with DoTs and a minion, a destro warlock’s DPS is steady and strong and can rival that of other classes, and this is the reason why im going for destruction, i used to go Affliction 56/0/15, but i found out it was harder to use.

Talent:

And im not using Suppression points since im over hit-capped, and cant seem to get more from it.

Stats:

Roughly, a destro stats would look like for max:

    * Intellect =0.56
    * Spirit = 0.75
    * Spell power = 1.55
    * Hit  = 3.27
    * Crit = 1.01
    * Haste = 1.52

By looking at the values, I`ve come up with this priority list of stats (in this order):

    * Hit (until capped)
    * Spell power
    * Haste
    * Crit
    * Spirit

Rotation:

As with the other classes, there is NO specific rotation for destro warlocks. This is more like a “priority” system.

Curse > Immo > CB > Confl > incin(filler)

It is essential that confl and CB are used every CD and that every curse is refreshed as soon as it goes down (NOT BEFORE it goes down).

Incinerate is to be used only as a filler. Lifetap can be used as necessary like when you need to move.

Should you use Corruption? Nope, unless you need to move. One incin out-DPS’s a corruption.

What Curse should you use? If your raid setup is such that there is no other spell damage debuff giver (ex. boomkin/unholy DK), use CoE. In every situation where there is a spell damage debuff on the target, use CoD. If the fight is going to last for less than 60seconds, use CoA because CoD will not detonate and it will be a waste to see it on your target.

Glyphs:

Mandatory:

Glyph of Conflagrate
Glyph of Immolate

Option for the last glyph:

Glyph of Incinerate
Glyph of Life Tap

Choosing between the two optional glyphs is dependent on your spec. If you chose At Spell Hit Cap with ISL (0-13-58), you won’t be needing to Life Tap frequently. Hence, the glyph of life tap won’t be much valuable. However, if you chose At Spell Hit Cap without ISL (0-17-54), you should take the glyph of life tap because you will be needing to life tap more. If you are not hit happed and is still using Under Hit Cap Destro Spec (3-14-54), get the glyph of life tap.

The rule is: If you have ISL take the glyph of  incinerate, if you dont have ISL,  take glyph of LifeTap.

Gems:

The stats above will help you choose the best gem possible. The more frequent question is whether you should socket for the bonus. The general rule is to simply go for the bonus if it will give you more of a gain than using pure Spell Power gems. Don’t forget though that you need to satisfy your Meta Gem requirements so balance the gems you put on.

These are the relevant gems to choose from:

    * Meta
      Chaotic Skyflare Diamond (at least 2 blue gems are needed for this)
    * Red
      Runed Cardinal Ruby (Gives u +23 spell power)
    * Blue
      Purified Dreadstone
    * Yellow
      Quick King`s Amber (Gives u +20 Haste)
      or
      Ridgid King`s Amber (If ure not hit cap`d)

Firestone or Spellstone?

Firestone is the choice of deep destro.
